David B. Daniels, DVM
David B. Daniels, DVM, was born on March 30, 1966 in Miami, FL. He attended Westminster Christian School and Baylor University prior to receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State. He then went on to practice small animal medicine with his dad in Miami and purchased his first practice in Ormond Beach, FL. Dr. Daniels currently lives in Birmingham and owns Nall Daniels Animal Hospital & is a partner in San Juan Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He is a member of the AVMA and JCVMA. He has obtained 200 hours of continuing education. He enjoys orthopedic surgery, dermatology, cardiology, and he is trained in advanced echo cardiology. David B Daniels has been thoroughly trained in laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. Dr. Daniels and his wife, Nina, have three children. His interests include golf, tennis, and reading. His family has two dogs, Otis and Henry, and two cats named Kitty and Sam. He and his family attend Mountain Brook Community Church.
Ashley W. Ballagas, DVM
Ashley W. Ballagas, DVM, was born on February 10, 1978 in Opelika, AL. She attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2000, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Ballagas practiced in Florida for a year prior to becoming a practice owner. She currently resides in Birmingham and practices part time. Dr. Ballagas is a member of the AVMA and the Jefferson County VMA. She obtained training in laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy at UGA. She also enjoys dermatology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Ballagas and her husband have two children and two dogs, a field spaniel, named Spinner and a jack russell terrier, named Lulu. She and her family are members at Asbury Methodist Church. They enjoy Auburn Football and spending time at Lake Martin.
Amy Dunaway, DVM
Amy Dunaway, DVM, was born June 27, 1984 in Madison, MS. After high school she attended Mississippi State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2006, followed by her DVM in 2010. Dr. Dunaway moved to Birmingham where she practiced small animal medicine for 3 years in Helena, AL before joining Nall Daniels in 2013. She enjoys internal medicine, dermatology, and diagnostic imaging. She currently resides in Hoover with her husband Chad, and their daughter, Ella.
Lauren Clark, DVM
Lauren Clark, DVM was born in May 1991 in Huntsville, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for undergrad, and received her bachelor's in Biology in 2013. Dr. Clark attended Auburn University for veterinary school and earned her DVM in 2017. She practiced emergency medicine at the Emergency and Specialty Animal Medical center for a year before starting at Nall Daniels. Interests include emergency medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. Her hobbies include spending time with her pets, cooking, and she enjoys going to events around Birmingham.
Emily Soto, DVM
Emily Soto is a Birmingham, AL native. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian in 2015, graduating from Auburn University, and has been practicing on species large and small ever since! She currently lives in Homewood with her husband Javier, their daughter Tessa who they just welcomed in February 2020, and their 4 large dogs.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and horseback riding.
Jamie is our licensed veterinary technician. Jamie attended Auburn University and has a degree in zoology/pre-vet. She has been at Nall Daniels since December 2000. She is blessed to have worked and learned directly from Dr. Nall! In her spare time she enjoys reading, Zumba, church choir and learning more about veterinary medicine!
Matt is originally from Homewood, Alabama and has been a part of the NDAH team since February 2007. Matt started as a kennel technician but, later, became a veterinary technician in 2010. Matt is a huge fan of Alabama football, watching movies, and reading comic books. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Holly, and his four children: Brooklyn, Grafton, Emma, and Cole. Matt is also a dog dad to Bug (a dachshund), Cap (a beagle), and Trooper (a pitbull mix)!
Brandon "Jeff" Moore has been a veterinary technician at NDAH since November 2018. In his free time, Brandon enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and reading. He also loves Alabama football and America! Brandon has a 5-year-old pitbull named Bane, aka "Beans".
Tiffany is from Warrior, Alabama and has been the kennel manager at NDAH since 2013. Tiffany is an avid Notre Dame fan and attends various sporting events throughout the year. Tiffany also loves running 5K’s and supporting numerous animal charities, but most importantly, Tiffany loves spending time with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Natalie. Tiffany is also a dog mom to Batman (a pitbull), Britain Grey (a lab mix), Rocky Balboa (a dachshund mix), John Rambo (a dachshund mix), Darby O’Gail (a rat terrier mix), and Piper (a dachshund)!
Becky is from Oxford, Alabama and has been a kennel technician at NDAH since January 2017. Becky is currently a senior at UAB and is majoring in Art Studio. In addition, Becky also enjoys spending time with her pets. Becky has 2 cats named Kermit and Sweetie, a dog named Bear, and a leopard gecko named Leonard.
Ashley is from Locust Fork, Alabama but now lives in Center Point, Alabama. Ashley has been a kennel technician at NDAH since November 2019. Ashley loves to cook and bake in her spare time. Ashley has 1 yellow tabby cat named Ronald Weasley.
Bonnie is from Hoover, Alabama and has been a receptionist at NDAH since January 2008. Bonnie is a devoted lover of wildlife and is even part of the Alabama Snake Removers team. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys watching tv and hiking (but only when it is warm outside!) Bonnie is the proud mom to her two children, Kaden and Alexis. Bonnie is also the pet mom to 3 dogs (Linus, Lucy, and Cora), 4 cats (Jack, Nala, Onyx, and Oreo), 2 ducks (Frank and Susan), 1 rabbit (Mr. Buns), 2 turtles (Raphael and Michelangelo) and several snakes.
Shay has been a receptionist at NDAH since January 2019. Shay is also a freelance photographer and a professional napper. In her free time, Shay enjoys playing guitar, spending time with family, and binge-watching shows on Netflix. Shay is a fur mom to Shyla, a pitbull/greyhound mix and Zero, a Maine Coon mix. Shay also has 4 snakes named Needle, Eden, Sssir Trouser, and Baby.
Cassidy is from Hoover, Alabama and has been a receptionist at NDAH since June 2019. Cassidy is currently pursuing a degree in marketing. Cassidy enjoys cooking, sleeping, avoiding homework, and traveling but most of all, Cassidy enjoys eating good food in different cities. Cassidy is the proud owner of 117 pairs of shoes but, she is prouder to be the mom of her dog, Coda!
Kathy has been a groomer at NDAH since October 2012 but has been grooming for over 31 years! In her free time, Kathy enjoys experimenting with arts and crafts. Kathy’s hobbies include painting, knitting, and crocheting. Kathy is a huge animal lover and has several dogs and cats. She also has a bird, a rabbit, a guinea pig, and a potbelly pig!
Elaine joined the NDAH team in 2006 as a kennel technician and receptionist but left in 2012 to pursue a field in grooming. After 7 years, she has rejoined our team as one of our groomers! Elaine has a specialty in Asian Fusion Grooming. In the past, Elaine has also groomed and trained horses and she has a huge passion for special needs dogs. Elaine loves spending time with her two daughters and American Sign Language is big part of Elaine's everyday life since one of Elaine's daughters has profound hearing loss. Elaine is a proud dog mom to Fraggle, Hooch, Piper, and Baron!
We love everyone at Nall Daniels! They are kind and compassionate and have given our dogs exceptional care. I highly recommend them!

Everyone was so helpful and thorough in treating Callie. They were amazingly attentive to her and helping her feel at ease. She's very nervous at the vet, but they made it as stress free for her as possible.
Mary is a part of our veterinary technician team at Nall Daniels Animal Hospital. Mary comes to us from a small animal practice in the Philadelphia area and is excited to be a part of the Nall Daniels team. Mary loves veterinary medicine because you can always “expect the unexpected.” In her free time, Mary enjoys running marathons and hiking with the her four-legged Labrador children, Mason and Cheyenne.
Ruben is from Birmingham, Alabama and has been a part of the NDAH team since April 2014. Ruben started as a kennel technician but, later, became a veterinary technician. Ruben is currently studying at UAB to become an assistant language teacher in Japan. In his spare time, Ruben enjoys playing video games and cooking. He even has an addiction to instant ramen! Ruben has 1 cat named Lettie, but can also be found hanging out with fellow NDAH patients, Casey and Khaki Matthews.
Chris is a licensed veterinary technician who has been at NDAH since November 2019. Chris obtained his LVT license from Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina in June 2013. In his spare time, Chris loves to spend time with his wife, Alice and son, Eoin. Chris also has 3 cats (Rocky, Smokey, and Poe)!
Julia has been at NDAH since June 2019 as a kennel technician. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Alabama. In her free time, she likes to read and study sharks and other marine life. She also loves to spend time with her 5 dogs (Xena, Piper, Prue, Cujo and Copper), 3 cats (Black Jack, Baylee, and Barbas), and 2 parakeets (Blue and Echo).
