David B. Daniels, DVM
David B. Daniels, DVM, was born on March 30, 1966 in Miami, FL. He attended Westminster Christian School and Baylor University prior to receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State. He then went on to practice small animal medicine with his dad in Miami and purchased his first practice in Ormond Beach, FL. Dr. Daniels currently lives in Birmingham and owns Nall Daniels Animal Hospital & is a partner in San Juan Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He is a member of the AVMA, AAHA and FVMA. He has obtained 200 hours of continuing education. He enjoys orthopedic surgery, dermatology, cardiology, and he is trained in advanced echo cardiology. David B Daniels has been thoroughly trained in laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. Dr. Daniels and his wife, Nina, have three children. His interests include golf, tennis, and reading. His family has two dogs, Otis and Henry, and two cats named Kitty and Sam. He and his family attend Mountain Brook Community Church.
Ashley W. Ballagas, DVM
Ashley W. Ballagas, DVM, was born on February 10, 1978 in Opelika, AL. She attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2000, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Ballagas practiced in Florida for a year prior to becoming a practice owner. She currently resides in Birmingham and practices part time. Dr. Ballagas is a member of the AVMA and the Jefferson County VMA. She obtained training in laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy at UGA. She also enjoys dermatology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Ballagas and her husband have two children, and two dogs, a field spaniel, named Spinner, and a jack russell terrier, named Lulu. She and her family are members at Asbury Methodist Church. They enjoy Auburn Football and spending time at Lake Martin.
Amy Dunaway, DVM
Amy Dunaway, DVM, was born June 27, 1984 in Madison, MS. After high school she attended Mississippi State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2006, followed by her DVM in 2010. Dr. Dunaway moved to Birmingham where she practiced small animal medicine for 3 years in Helena, AL before joining Nall Daniels in 2013. She enjoys internal medicine, dermatology, and diagnostic imaging. She currently resides in Hoover with her husband Chad, and Monkey, a domestic short hair tabby.
Caitlin Cleary, DVM
Dr. Caitlin Cleary is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. She attended the University of Kentucky for her undergraduate degree, and graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She practiced in Kentucky for several years, briefly in South Florida, and moved to Birmingham in 2014. She was excited to join the Nall Daniels team in 2016. Dr. Cleary lives in Birmingham with her husband, Chris, their son, Calvin, and daughter, Georgia. She has two dogs, Boogie and Midas, a cat named Kitten, two koi fish (Sir Arthur Koi-nan Doyle and Koi-be Bryant) and a turtle named Scrambles.
Lauren Clark, DVM
Lauren Clark, DVM was born in May 1991 in Huntsville, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for undergrad, and received her bachelors in Biology in 2013. Dr. Clark attended Auburn University for veterinary school and earned her DVM in 2017. She practiced emergency medicine at the Emergency and Specialty Animal Medical center for a year before starting at Nall Daniels. Interests include emergency medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. Her hobbies include spending time with her pets, cooking, and she enjoys going to events around Birmingham.
Jamie is our licensed veterinary technician. Jamie attended Auburn University and has a degree in zoology/pre-vet. She has been at Nall Daniels since December 2000. She is blessed to have worked and learned directly from Dr. Nall! In her spare time she enjoys reading, Zumba, church choir and learning more about veterinary medicine!
Mary is one of our newest members to the technician team at Nall Daniels Animal Hospital. Mary comes to us from a small animal practice in the Philadelphia area and is excited to be a part of the Nall Daniels team. Mary loves veterinary medicine because you can always “expect the unexpected.” In her free time, Mary enjoys running marathons and hiking with the her four-legged Labrador children, Mason and Cheyenne.
Matt has been at Nall Daniels for 10 years! He has four kids: Brooklyn, Grafton, Emma, and Cole. He is a huge football fan, loves watching movies, reading comic books, and spending time with his wife, Holly.
Ruben ventured from the far away land of Corner, AL to join our staff…only because he heard that there were corgis hanging out at Nall Daniels Animal Hospital! Since that day, he and Casey have been best friends. We are so happy to have Ruben as one of our vet techs!
Debbie, who is from Guntersville, Ala., has been a technician for 6 and a half years. Debbie joined Nall Daniels in March of 2018 and her specialty is working with felines. Debbie has a chocolate lab named Carlton and two cats named Neko and Macy.
Brooke is originally from Greenville Michigan, but has resided in Alabama for eight years now. She is currently finishing up her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice at UAB and plans to continue on to Law School to obtain her Juris doctorate. Brooke has two dogs, Darth Vader- a German Shepherd German Shorthaired Pointer mix- and Eli- a Welsh Pembroke Corgi, Australian Cattle Dog mix. Brooke also has a cat named Bear.
Tori was born in North Carolina and received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After being a journalist for 16 years, Tori received her veterinary assistant certification from Animal Behavior College. Tori moved to Birmingham from Atlanta in December of 2017 and has worked at Nall Daniels since April of 2018. Tori has a basset hound named Flower.
Tiffany has worked at Nall Daniels as the kennel manager for five years. Tiffany lives in Warrior with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Natalie. She has five dogs (Rocky Balboa, Britain Grey, Darby, Piper and John Rambo). Tiffany is an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoys traveling to various sporting events in South Bend throughout the year.
Meet Bonnie, one of our receptionists! Bonnie has worked at Nall Daniels for 10 years. Bonnie lives in Chelsea with her two precious kids as well as 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a rabbit, and 2 snakes!
Natalie is from Childersburg and has worked at Nall Daniels as a kennel tech since August of 2017. She lives in Wilsonville with her husband Daniel. Natalie has three dogs (Mocha, Otto and Princess Leia), a turtle, fish and chickens.
Brandon is from Birmingham and has worked at Nall Daniels since March of 2018. He has 6 dogs named Bella, Belle, Dolly, Wee Wee, DJ and Mushu. In his spare time, he loves watching Auburn football games and going to the beach.
Becky is from Oxford, Ala., and has been a kennel technician since January 2017. Becky is attending UAB to obtain her bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences. She has two cats named Kermit and Sweetie, a leopard gecko named Leonard, a snail and a fish.
Sam is one of our Kennel Technicians here at Nall Daniels. She also works as an event manager at Top Golf, and occasionally serves at O'Charley's. Sam is a rescue mom and a foster mom of 9 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 ferrets. Sam hopes to have her own rescue kennel one day.
We love everyone at Nall Daniels! They are kind and compassionate and have given our dogs exceptional care. I highly recommend them!

Everyone was so helpful and thorough in treating Callie. They were amazingly attentive to her and helping her feel at ease. She's very nervous at the vet, but they made it as stress free for her as possible.
